There are currently 352 acres of open space in the Sebald Park Area of Elk Creek MetroPark. This includes three playgrounds, natural areas, covered picnic shelters, and hiking trails. It is Butler County's only public horse path! There are now 9.5 miles of trails available, suitable for cyclists of all skill levels. Riding on horse paths is available annually from April 16 through November 14.

September 1891 was the opening of the Sorg Theater, but it closed after a flood in 2010. The Sorg reopened in 2017 with a performance featuring the Butler Philharmonic Orchestra.
